This is the highest award given at Bonneville Elementary. Students in third through sixth grades who fulfill the requirements of citizenship, patriotism, academic excellence, extra-curricular activity and service can earn their Honor Patch. There are four different patches (one for each year). Applications are available in the office.

 

 

BONNEVILLE HONOR PATCH - Third Grade

 

I.  Memorize the following quotes and briefly explain what you think the author meant.

 

Choose ONE of the following quotes by Abraham Lincoln:

  We are as happy as we make up our minds to be.

  The only safe and sure way to destroy an enemy is to make him your friend.

 

The following quote by John F. Kennedy:

I.  Memorize the following quotes and briefly explain what you think the author meant.

 

Choose ONE of the following quotes by Abraham Lincoln:

  Without Divine assistance I cannot succeed. And with it, I cannot fail.

  Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith let us to the end dare to do our duty as we understand it.

 

The following quote by Thomas Jefferson from the Declaration of Independence:

  We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

 

II.  Recite the Preamble to the Constitution:

      We the people of the United States, in order to

      ●  form a more perfect Union,

      ●  establish justice,

      ●  insure domestic tranquility,

      ●  provide for the common defense,

      ●  promote the general welfare

      ●  and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish

      ●  When grouped, it is in the center or front of other flags.

      ●  When hung vertically on a wall, the stars are on the left.

      ●  On a stage, it is placed on the speaker's right side (the left side to the audience).

      ●  Never use a flag as bunting for decoration.

      ●  Handle the flag with reverence. It represents our great country.

I.  Memorize the following quotes and briefly explain what you think the author meant.

 

Choose ONE of the following quotes by Benjamin Franklin or Robert Kennedy:
